About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Roseville, A Slice of Goodness is a charming pie and sandwich shop that pays homage to homemade comfort food at its finest. Specializing in an irresistible array of handcrafted pies and hearty sandwiches, this cozy café offers a taste experience reminiscent of treasured family recipes and warm kitchen memories.

The menu is a delightful journey through classic and inventive flavors. Signature pies such as the French Apple Caramel Pecan Pie, rich Chocolate Chest Pie, and the luscious Peach & Apricot Pie celebrate fresh, seasonal ingredients wrapped in golden, flaky crusts. Each slice is more than dessert—it’s a lovingly crafted slice of nostalgia, often leaving guests craving just one more bite. The fresh fruit pies, served with a dollop of whipped cream, burst with natural sweetness and vibrant textures, offering a perfect balance of tart and sugary notes that dance on the palate.

Beyond the pies, A Slice of Goodness serves wholesome lunches including satisfying half sandwiches accompanied by crisp potato salad and a refreshing pickle, just as customer Whitney Lake joyfully describes. Their selection of salads—from the tangy Tuna Salad to the hearty Goodness Chef Salad featuring ham, turkey, and layered cheeses—provides fresh, flavorful options that complement the rich pies beautifully.

The dining atmosphere is intimate and inviting, with limited seating that encourages close conversation and a relaxed pace, evoking the comforting ambiance of a dear friend’s kitchen. As John Cooper perfectly puts it, eating here feels like returning "back home in Momma's kitchen"—a sentiment echoed by many customers who treasure the heartfelt hospitality and consistently exceptional food.

It’s no surprise that patrons like Audrey Vorametsanti consider A Slice of Goodness a “hidden gem,” with pies so memorable they rival cherished family classics. Whether you're stopping by for a nostalgic lunch or celebrating a special occasion—like the heartfelt French Peach-Apple Pie made in honor of a personal milestone—the experience is uniquely personal and profoundly satisfying.

While the hours may be limited and the seating cozy, the reward is well worth the visit. These cherished pies are handcrafted with love, and the warm, friendly team behind the scenes only add to the welcoming vibe. Bev Cooper’s advice is spot on—“go early so you won’t miss out on the best pie selection.” With each bite offering a perfect harmony of buttery crust and luscious filling, A Slice of Goodness stands as a treasured haven for anyone who appreciates honest, heartfelt cooking.

For a truly soulful meal or an indulgent treat that feels like a warm embrace from the past, make sure to visit A Slice of Goodness and savor the flavors of genuine craftsmanship and care. This is more than just a pie shop—it’s a destination where tradition meets sincerity, and every slice tells a story.

Wow what a hidden gem. Probably the best pie I've ever had. Hours are limited and it's not cheap, but the place is like a step back in time. Lunch is presented very nicely but the pie is where it's at. Thank you Debbie!

A hidden gem! A small café serving homemade soup, sandwiches, and salads. But wait, there's more! What you really go here for is the amazingly delicious homemade pies!!! And the ladies that run this place are the sweetest... Just so you know, days/hours are limited, but it is so worth it. Go early so you won't miss out on the best pie selection.

Best pies I’ve ever had, (besides my late Grandma’s of course) and worth every penny!! We are so lucky to have this business still up, and running. Thank you for making my Birthday a great one!!

This was a fun place for lunch. Their menu consisted mainly sandwich, soup, or salad with pie! It was just enough. Everything there is home made. I felt like I was back home in Momma's kitchen. Pies are fantastic with great crusts and plenty of filling. Get there early cause there only about 10 tables to sit at. We put this place on our favorites list!

Went for first time a few weeks ago to try the pies for Thanksgiving. Had the half sandwich and slice of pie. It felt like I was at my grandmas house for lunch. Tasted the pie and it was absolutely delicious. And my pies for Thanksgiving were incredible. I wish I had ordered more!!!

I went to Slice of Goodness for the first time yesterday on the recommendation of a friend who is a long-time customer and I was very pleasantly surprised! This unassuming little place has a pleasant atmosphere, and welcoming staff. I ordered the combo of half a tuna sandwich and a piece of pie. I'm very picky about tuna sandwiches, and this one was absolutely delicious, with some sort of Special Sauce and spices that truly enhanced the tuna. It was full of flavor. I ordered chocolate chess pie( NOT Chest pie as is labeled on the web picture:) My pie was served warm and was a dense, fudgy delight. I'm sorry I did not get my servers name, but she was delightful. Can't wait to go back!
